With a market share of 1.2 million euro, China and Hong Kong are among the most promising markets for the development of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore’s export. In order to increase the knowledge of the Denomination and encourage business opportunities for the wineries, the Consortium is flying to the Far East for a triple appointment this month.

The main one is the Vinexpo Asia Pacific, in Hong Kong, from May 27th  to May 29th, which has become a leading wine fair in the Asian wine market. Asian wine lovers will have the chance to taste the wines of Bellussi, Biancavigna, Bortolomiol, Contarini, La Farra, Le Vigne di Alice, Perlage, San Giuseppe, Sorelle Bronca, Tenuta degli Ultimi, Val d’Oca, Valdellövo, Valdo and Zardetto, which will act as ambassadors for Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.

Furthermore, on May 23rd at the Langham Place Hotel in Hong Kong, the participating wineries at the fair will showcase their labels to a public of 80 operators, importers and journalists during two seminars which will be led by the wine educator J.C. Viens.  The third event will be aimed at wine lovers and will take place outside the scope of the fair between 7p.m. and 9 p.m. on 27th May, at the Tasting Wine Bar in Hong Kong.

The Consortium aims at protecting the Denomination from the imitations and spreading the culture of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore. In order to give the Chinese market the opportunity to get to know better its wine, the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg Consortium has also translated its website in Chinese. Asian consumers and operators have the chance to learn more about the history, culture and the beauty of the territory, which is also in the Tentative Lists to become a Unesco World Heritage Site; to get specific information about the features of the wine and about general news, events and festivals: http://www.prosecco.it/cn/.
