Lidio Carraro is getting ready for London! The winery is starting to look seriously at export and is looking for a business partner who can help them develop distribution in this very important market.

The winery already has an unrivaled reputation and is highly regarded by many wine critics around the world. Steven Spurrier, for example, the renowned British wine expert and consultant editor at Decanter said: “I can not hide the fact that this winery, now in its fifth generation, is my favourite. It wishes to preserve the authenticity of variety and terroir and never uses oak, preferring that the wine speaks of the soil, not what it is aged in.” Lidio Carraro has also won the best ratings of Brazilian wines (93 points or 18 scores) on Jancis Robinson MW’s website www.jancisrobinson.com

Lidio Carraro is a family-owned winery, based in the South of Brasil in the Rio Grande do Sul. It is committed to producing only high quality wines and is guided by a Purist Philosophy of ‘minimal intervention to maximum natural wine expression’. With five generations of viticultural experience the family believes that great wines are obtained through maximum respect of the natural expression of the grape and the origin of the terroir. It exports around 30% of its production to more than 20 countries and its wines have received international recognition in recent years from some of the most influential wine critics. Lidio Carraro was the winery chosen to produce the official wines of major sporting events such as Rio 2016 Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Rio Open Tennis, Stock Car and Pan American Games Rio 2007.

Last year exports of Brazilian wines to the UK grew by 87.55%, compared to 2015. “The UK is one of our top target markets because of its tradition of consumption, the prestige and recognition we already have from major British wine critics and the British consumer’s desire to be always looking for new trends and products with unique style and quality” said Monica Dornelles, export manager of Lidio Carraro.

Lidio Carraro will exhibit in the “Wines Unearthed” section of the Fair, upstairs on the balcony on stand X107. In this area you will find 100 producers from 19 different countries. Anyone visiting the fair will be able to visit the world-renowned Purist Wines of Lidio Carraro, especially Lidio Carraro Dadivas Chardonnay, Lidio Carraro Dadivas Brut, Lidio Carraro Agnus Merlot and Tannat, as well as Lidio Carraro Grande Vindima Merlot.
