ProWein furthers collaboration with WSET Silver Patron for the World’s Largest Wine and Spirit Education Body

ProWein is extending its collaboration with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) becoming a Silver Patron for this, the world’s largest provider of education programmes in the field of wine and spirits. Furthermore, ProWein will be providing two scholarships for international WSET graduates. This means ProWein is stepping up its commitment in the field of wine and spirit education developing the already existing partnership between ProWine China and the WSET. This partnership includes an entire series of Master Classes already offered by WSET at ProWine China in Shanghai which it will now be offered at ProWine Asia in Singapore making WSET a firm fixture in the ProWine Education Offensive.

“WSET is one of the leading international bodies organising education courses for wines and spirits. As a Silver Patron of the WSET we build upon our commitment in the field of wine and spirit education and offer the sector new opportunities for further education during the trade fair,” explains Michael Degen, Divisional Manager at Messe Düsseldorf and Director of ProWein. Ian Harris, Chief Executive of WSET, also welcomed the development of the collaboration: “I am delighted we have been able to welcome ProWein as the first trade fair into the ever growing circle of WSET corporate patrons. There are many synergies between ProWein in Düsseldorf, ProWine China, ProWine Asia and the WSET – synergies that we plan to use extensively. For us ProWein is the ideal platform to further promote wine and spirit education on an international level.”

ProWein supports WSET Diploma Graduates As part of its commitment as a Silver Patron, ProWein is providing a scholarship for two international candidates passing their WSET Diploma examination with excellent results. In focus here are graduates from the USA, China, Singapore and Great Britain. The scholarship includes a curated visit to ProWein in Düsseldorf where graduates will gain a behind the scenes view and have the opportunity to take part in top tasting sessions and events at the trade fair. Following ProWein a study trip is planned to German wine regions.
