Open letter from Otilia Romero de Condés, the general director of the fair:

As a consequence of many calls from wineries, producers and companies interested in maintaining their business lines with China, we would like to communicate our position regarding the celebration of the fair on the forthcoming 29th and 30th of May 2020.

Firstly, we would like to make clear our support to thousands of people who are currently struggling and fighting against this difficult situation. We have friends, colleagues and partners who are keeping us informed on a daily basis.

We would also like to state that an international fair that generates such an impressive amount of important business such as the WBWE must remain calm when facing emergency situations as we are currently experiencing with the coronavirus crisis.

Responsibility is what is encouraging us to continue to work within a context of serenity and common sense. We have three months left before the fair to be held at the end of May.

The WBWE is not just a fair intended for positioning a company or a brand image, the WBWE is the biggest event worldwide for producers of large wine volumes, who could face severe financial losses if their transactions with China are stopped.

At present, given the information that we have, it is advisable to keep working calmly in order to maintain all channels of dialogue open with one of the most important countries for exports for wineries from across the world.

The entire team of the WBWE is at the disposal of all wineries, producers and companies from the sector that would like to participate in this fair, the most important for the trade of large wine volumes in China.

We will be delighted to assist you with any further information regarding the WBWE Asia 2020. Please do not hesitate to contact us: info@worldbulkwine.com
