PRESS RELEASE

CHIANTI CLASSICO AT HOPWINE

Virtual fairs during Coronavirus:

the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico at Hopwine, the first online wine fair.

Barberino Tavarnelle, May, 20, 2020– A virtual showcase for Consortia, associations, estates and wines – this is Hopwine, the first online fair for the wine production sector, which is taking place from 18th-25th May, on the Web, of course (hopwine.com).

The Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico has decided to join this new and unusual event, also to fill the void of trade meetings in the sector due to the cancellation of the main international events and fairs for 2020 – from ProWein in Dusseldorf to Vinitaly in Verona – and is the only Consortium representing Made in Italy products to attend.

During the Hopwine fair, professionals from the international wine production network are able to visit the producers’ and consortia’s’ virtual stands, make contact and ask for samples to taste.

Because the only contact that will be still be “physical” in this new way of promoting wines is contact with the product itself: the indispensable moment of tasting.

Hopwine is organised so as to enable producers to send samples of all the wines presented on the virtual stands, all over the world, when specific interest is shown in a given product.

To do this, Hopwine has signed an agreement with the Vinovae estate, which – using  internationally recognised, patented technology – is able to re-bottle the 75cl bottles offered for tasting at the virtual fair (sent by the participating producers) in smaller formats, which are easier to dispatch directly to the applicant: in other words, the necessary quantity for a single tasting. The patented system (Vinotte, 2cl bottles) guarantees preservation of the chemical and sensory features of the wine sample.

The Chianti Classico stand in the first virtual wine fair includes 22 wine producing estates, with their prestigious Gallo Nero winesCanonica a Cerreto, Castello di Fonterutoli – Marchesi Mazzei, Castello di Meleto, Castello di Monsanto, Castello di Radda, Castello di Volpaia, Castello Vicchiomaggio, Famiglia Nunzi Conti, Fattoria della Aiola, Fattoria di Corsignano, La Sala (Il Torriano), Le Cinciole, Nardi Viticoltori, Pieve di Campoli, Querceto di Castellina, Querciabella, Riecine, Rocca delle Macìe, Rocca di Castagnoli, Tenuta Orsumella, Tenute Poggio Bonelli e Villa a Sesta (Agricola Tattoni).

The Vino Chianti Classico Consortium is increasingly using online means to create “places” – not only to meet, but to purchase products and discover new producers. The Consortium’s participation in Hopwine is coherent with the “Largest Chianti Classico catalogue” online project, which it has recently launched and promoted.

From today onwards, Gallo Nero lovers, all your favourite wines are just a click away – find out where to (virtually) find them by visiting the estates’ dedicated pages on the Chianti Classico website (https://www.chianticlassico.com/aziende/?_sft_servizi=vendita-on-line).
