JAMES SUCKLING ASSIGNS 94 POINTS TO BOTTEGA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO

JamesSukling.com, an authoritative international website dedicated to the world of wine, has assigned 94 points to Bottega’s Brunello di Montalcino Il Vino dei Poeti, 2018 vintage.

This is a very prestigious result that rewards one of the greatest red wines of Bottega S.p.A., which in Montalcino also makes Rosso di Montalcino and Sant’Antimo, in addition to the prized Brunello.

James Suckling, a well-known American wine journalist, is one of the most authoritative wine critics, whose opinions attract the interest and respect of wine lovers, great collectors and the entire world wine industry. Suckling was the Senior Editor and European Editor-in-Chief of Wine Spectator for almost 30 years. In 2010, Suckling launched the JamesSuckling.com website, driven by the need to offer the public a more modern approach to the world of wine.

Wines with scores of 90/100 and above are classified as outstanding, to identify their excellence. In Anglo-Saxon countries, and now also in Italy, the ratings published by the most authoritative sites represent an important impulse to purchases.

Finally, Bottega’s ability to produce quality wines within different denominations should be emphasised: Prosecco, Montalcino, Valpolicella, Chianti.

Brunello di Montalcino Il Vino dei Poeti Bottega 

Brunello di Montalcino Il Vino dei Poeti Bottega is a wine of great structure with an alcohol content of 14% vol. The intense ruby red colour is enriched by shaded garnet reflections. The nose is characteristic, intense and persistent. It shows hints of berries and violets, musk, spices and aromatic wood, accompanied by notes of vanilla, jam and, in the closing, balsamic aromas.

The palate is firm, structured, robust, complex and soft, with elegant tannins perfectly balanced with the alcohol content. The aftertaste, pleasant and persistent, continues the pleasure of tasting. Excellent as a meditation wine, it is perfect with game (wild boar and pheasant in particular), red meat, rib-eye steak, mushrooms, white truffles and mature cheeses.
