Reserved for groups of 10 people with a view to permanent employment

Despite a fluctuating economic situation, employment continues to record more than flattering figures. Specifically, in the second quarter of 2024 the unemployment index fell to 6.8% in Italy, while in Veneto it dropped to 2.7%, a level that analysts define as physiological.

Therefore, in this historical moment, the challenge is not to create work tout court, but stable and fairly remunerated work that keeps workers, especially young people, loyal to the companies in order to pursue a path of growth together.

With this in mind, Bottega S.p.A., winery and distillery based in Bibano di Godega, has created ‘Bottega Academy’, a training course born from the consideration that the wealth of a company is given above all by its human resources.

This project consists of training courses for candidates who want to become part of the Bottega S.p.A. world, but who need to be adequately prepared, both from a technical and organisational point of view. It is reserved for groups of 10 people who are hired for 6 months by the company and regularly remunerated, benefiting from an 80-hour training course, led by an external teacher and the company’s team leaders. The remaining time is dedicated to the practical application of the theoretical teachings, in order to acquire adequate experience in the field. At the end of this period, the participants, if deemed suitable, can be permanently employed.

Already for the 80 hours of training, a fixed-term employment of 6 months is envisaged with the starting classification of the food sector, which entails a gross salary of 1,726.52 per month for 14 months.

Bottega Academy arose from the shortage of skills in certain sectors, in particular the difficulty of finding line operators for bottling machines. Specifically, in 2024, the search for candidates focused on new high school graduates with a passion for mechanics and electronics, with excellent manual dexterity, and on workers with production line experience, also coming from other sectors.

In the future it is likely that Bottega Academy will also be extended to other sectors, including the commercial area, to train and include in the company structure professional figures dedicated to interfacing with customers and developing sales activities.

Sandro Bottega, President of Bottega S.p.A., says: ‘We are certain that continuing our business successfully will depend on the ability to consider company life as a continuum of teaching and learning, which will allow us to improve, to develop new skills and to know how to work in a team with continuity. The first days in the company represent for each worker a sort of imprinting that, through the training course channelled in the right direction, allows them to grasp and recognise their talents, so that they are not wasted but are enhanced in the best interest of the individual and the company.’

Bottega continues, ‘In relation to the results of the ongoing project in this latter part of 2024, we aim to train and hire more people in 2025 as well. Our goal is to build step by step, together with the workers themselves, those professional skills we need to continue to grow.’
