The 32nd edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was held in early June in Yinchuan, in the heart of the Ningxia wine region (China). Over three days, 7,165 wines from 49 countries were blind-tasted by 375 international experts from 56 nations. An unparalleled diversity of professional profiles that confirms the CMB’s status as the world’s most international wine competition.
The results perfectly illustrate this global dimension, with medals awarded to producers from Croatia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Mauritius, Hungary, Mexico, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, and many others.

The 2 International Revelations of CMB 2025
A Spanish wine with a “French Touch” wins the Revelation for Best Red Wine of the competition! Les Sorts Vinyes Velles 2020, vinified by a young Franco-Spanish oenologist passionate about Grenache, conquered the jury with its finesse and intensity. After already attracting attention during the 2023 CMB edition, this emerging talent confirms his rise, offering his cooperative winery major international recognition.
The Best White Wine Revelation is Hungarian with the Kancellár SomlAI Cuvée 2021, a blend from the Kancellár Birtok estate, originating from the Somló region. It is described by the jury as a seductive bouquet of bright citrus fruits, delicate flowers and subtle herbal notes. Lime and grapefruit dominate, supported by hints of acacia, jasmine and olive. On the palate, pronounced minerality and fine acidity combine with elegant suppleness to create a balanced, long-lasting wine.
Romania No Longer Has to Take a Back Seat on the International Stage!
Following outstanding results at the Rosé Wines Session and Sauvignon Selection by CMB, Romania continues to shine with no fewer than 65 medals—representing 36.5% of its wines entered! Among these are 4 Grand Gold Medals, including the Romanian Revelation of the competition: the Cuvee Roșu by Florin Manoliu 2021 from Crama Pandora.
France: A Leader in Alcohol-Free Alternatives?
France has not failed in its rank as a producer of exceptional wines rich in terroir. The Bordeaux and Languedoc-Roussillon regions largely dominate the awards list, taking more than 60% of French medals (377 in total) between them. The Rhône Valley ranks third. The Bordeaux, Languedoc, and Lalande-de-Pomerol appellations particularly stand out. Note that 15 French wines obtained the prestigious Grand Gold Medal, recognition of their exceptional quality. Among these great wines, the French Revelation goes to Saint-Émilion, and more precisely to Château Franc La Rose 2022 from Vignobles Jean-Louis Trocard.
As in 2024, the Alcohol-Free Revelation goes once again to a French wine: the Mallette Blanc 0% from Bordeaux Families. In total, no fewer than 9 French No-Low wines left with a medal, representing one third of the medal-winning wines in this category!
Numerous Grand Gold Medals for the Major Producers
The main markets maintained their strong performance in terms of total medals awarded, but this year they truly stood out for the exceptional quality of their wines, earning numerous Grand Gold Medals!
In order, we have Spain (361 medals – 16 Grand Gold Medals), Italy (343 medals – 15 Grand Gold Medals), France (377 medals – 15 Grand Gold Medals), and Portugal (290 medals – 14 Grand Gold Medals).
Record-Breaking China
Host of this 2025 CMB edition, China participated with a record number of wines (663). A sign of constantly evolving quality over the past ten years, no fewer than 230 wines presented were rewarded: 8 Grand Gold Medals, 100 Gold Medals, and 122 Silver Medals. China undeniably constitutes a rising wine nation that will need to be reckoned with in the future.
