Family winery from the Curicó-Valley in Chile presents its new company strategy in Düsseldorf / Matías Rivera head of a young team

From March 23 – 25, 2014 the Aresti Group from the Curicó-Valley, 200 kilometers south of the state capital Santiago, will present both their brands Aresti and Espíritu to the biggest professional audience of the wine world. The company, managed by the sisters Ana María and Begoña Aresti, will present inself on ProWein 2014 in hall 1, booth B02 with a mix of new faces, staff proven of value and exquisite wines.

In the operative sector 45-year-old Matías Rivera, a man with almost 20 years of experience in the business, took over as new General Manager last summer. Rivera will accompany a five-year-process of development, which started in 2013 with the brands new appearance and a modernised look and which will be expanded to the cultivation sector as well. The Aresti Wine Group owns about 1.200 hectares of land, of which 360 are cultivated with vines. The share of the company’s own grapes in the wine production is to be raised significantly. In international marketing the Aresti Group wants to take a new position as well.

The brand Aresti unites four different wine lines – the Family Collection, the line Trisquel, the Special Release and the Estate Selection. In the Family Collection the best red grapes from the vineyards are selected to create an elegant blend. The wines of the Trisquel line each represent the terroir on which they grow the best. The Trisquel comes as a Cuvée, a Syrah, a Gewurztraminer and a Sauvignon Blanc. The wines of the Special Release edition are well balanced and ripe wines which are based deeply in the character and tradition of Aresti. The Estate Selection consists only of grapes from the heart of Curicó-Valley and represents fresh and expressive youth. Additionally there are the brand wines of Espíritu de Chile and Espíritu de Argentina.

With a number of important awards, Aresti showed its ambition after the new start in the last few months. The “flagship” Family Collection 2009 received Great Gold at Cata d’Or W in Santiago. At the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2013 and at the China Wine & Spirits Best Value it received Gold. In the south American wine guide „Descorchados“ it was rated with 91 points. 92 points were given to the Trisquel Sauvignon Blanc 2012, as well as Gold in Brussels. The Syrah 2011 from the Trisquel line got 91 points at the „Mesa de Cata“ and in „Descorchados“ even 92, the Estate Selection Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in Robert Parker’s guide each received 90 points, the Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon in the „Wine Spectator“ was rated 89 points.
