Bordeaux, 6 October 2016 – Vinexpo Tokyo on November 15 and 16 is the place to be for wine and spirits professionals.  It is an unparalleled opportunity to taste wines and spirits from all over the world and to directly meet the top decision makers of the producing companies. Vinexpo Tokyo is a once-in-two-years occasion to try out new and rare products in a time-saving and efficient way, without having to travel the world. Vinexpo Tokyo will also unite the greatest international experts, who will present products and hold conferences at the Vinexpo Academy.

A showcase for global wine production

Visiting Vinexpo will give you the chance of travelling the wine and spirits world in just two days without leaving Tokyo. Can you think of anything more efficient to be up to date and do business? The event will unite more than 200 wine producers from more than 12 countries, including some of the hidden gems with long winemaking traditions and amazing wines made of autochthonous varieties and with ancient winemaking methods, such as Moldova or Romania. For the first time ever the New York Wine & Grape Foundation will exhibit in Tokyo.
You will (re)discover producers and traders from France, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Germany, South-Africa, and Chile and get the latest information on their trends and innovations.

An encounter with the Best Sommeliers of the World

To learn even more about the fabulous world of wines and spirits, The Vinexpo Academy programme will star amongst others Jon Arvid Rosengren, Best Sommelier of the World 2016, who will give his first ever masterclass in Japan, talking about Austrian wines.
Best Sommelier of the World Shinya Tasaki (1995) will animate a grand tasting of French wines and spirits, organized by the magazine Sommeliers International, whilst Paolo Basso Best Sommelier of the World (2013) will hold inspiring masterclass on Swiss Wine at the Vinexpo Academy.

A tasting of top Italian wines

After their successful collaboration, Vinexpo and the Italian wine guide Gambero Rosso join forces again to celebrate Italian wine culture in Asia. The Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri World Tour will take off at Vinexpo Tokyo. The event scheduled on November 16 will launch the Japanese version of the Vini d’Italia guide, the launching ceremony will be followed by a tasting of 100 of the best tre Bicchieri –awarded wines of the guide’s 2017 edition.  The tasting will be an outstanding opportunity for visitors to discover some of the Alpine country’s greatest vinous treasures. This year the Gambero Rosso also celebrates its 30th anniversary. Besides the celebrations the Gambero Rosso team will also present three seminars at the Vinexpo Academy.

85 Bordeaux classified growths to discover!

For the first time ever the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (short UGCB) will organize its famous tasting of Bordeaux classified growth wines at Vinexpo Tokyo. The tasting will unite 85 of the world’s most celebrated wines, which will be presented exclusively by their producers, making this tasting a unique opportunity to meet some of the wine world’s stars and taste the 2013 vintage. From 4 pm to 7pm the tasting will be open to wine lovers who will also have the opportunity to taste the 2010 vintage from some estates.
