September 11th,  2017The first ever Vinexpo Explorer event brings 90 international buyers to Vienna.

Vinexpo Explorer, Vinexpo’s new concept, opens today in Vienna bringing together 90 international buyers and 95 Austrian winegrowers.

Held over two days (11–12 September), the event brings together introductions of new wine growers, business meetings, tastings and networking.

The 90 international buyers represent more than 30 nationalities and were selected by Vinexpo for both their buying potential and their interest in Austrian wines.

Exporting — the driving force behind the Vinexpo shows – will feature heavily, thanks in particular to the 10 Chinese, 8 American and 5 Canadian participants.

Markets with strong development potential, such as Thailand and Vietnam, have confirmed they will be attending in order to develop their offer.

The key European markets — still the dominant wine consumers — are interested in discovering new products. Peter Moschna, Purchasing and Business Development Manager for AMKA Sweden, a distributor present in 10 northern European countries, explains: “I’m always on the lookout for wines. Vinexpo Explorer lets me not only taste Austrian wines and understand them better, it’s also an opportunity to discuss marketing and business strategies with international colleagues in the retail sector.”

Vinexpo Explorer’s strength and originality lies in its novel approach to exploring winegrowing regions. Business meetings tailored to each participant’s interests, coupled with vineyard visits and exceptional masterclasses, allow the 90 international buyers and 95 Austrian winegrowers to build lasting business relationships.

The excellent reputation enjoyed by Austria’s wines, the exceptional commitment of Austrian Wine, and Vinexpo’s strength in international markets have all contributed to making the launch of the first Vinexpo Explorer event a great success.
