Region’s diverse appellations, rich history and world-class wines focus of second annual event
September 15th, 2017 – Vinexpo, one of the leading partners in the wine and spirits industry, today announced it will bring an elite group of buyers and media to Sonoma County for its second Vinexpo Explorer gathering. The program showcases some of the world’s most intriguing emerging wine regions with immersive tastings, tours and panels.
“The spirit of the Sonoma County winemaking community, the caliber of wines, and diversity of this region are best understood when experienced in person,” said Caroline Shaw, president of the board of directors, Sonoma County Vintners, and executive vice president, Jackson Family Wines. “We welcome the opportunity to introduce our area to such a prestigious international audience.”
The two-day experience, to be held from September 23 to 25, 2018, will provide an in-depth education on the unique qualities of Sonoma County, from the key varietals, terroirs, wine styles and commitment to sustainable practices. Winemakers, growers and trade from the region will share ideas, best practices and personal experiences with international attendees, while connecting directly in the vineyards of this dynamic area.
“Through Vinexpo Explorer, we aim to bring attention and focus to regions that have the potential to become international consumer trends,” said Guillaume Deglise, CEO, Vinexpo. “By complementing our established trade fairs in Bordeaux, Hong Kong and Tokyo, Vinexpo Explorer provides a new opportunity for networking and connection within the wine and spirits industry.”
The inaugural chapter of Vinexpo Explorer took place on September 11 and 12, 2017 in Austria and is co‐organized in partnership with the Austrian Wine Marketing Board. Available by invitation only, the program is offered to key international buyers, distributors and media.
