Producers of Romagna DOC wines will be at the former silk factory, Casa Spadoni, with a preview of their excellences

Casa Spadoni Faenza, located inside a former silk factory, is getting ready for the fifteenth edition of Vini ad Arte. There is a new location for the 2020 edition, an alternative one to the MIC, Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche (International Museum of Ceramics), which will be hosting an important exhibit dedicated to Picasso this year, entitled “Picasso. La sfida della Ceramica”, a series of priceless artworks showing the entire creative course of the Spanish artist using clay as a medium.

The walls and the history of Casa Spadoni will be the magnificent setting for the best of Romagna’s wine production: Vini ad Arte is the much awaited event featuring a preview of Romagna Sangiovese on the international scene, and it stands as the key wine event to learn more about the evolution of the Romagna through a narration of quality, tradition and innovation.

Under the direction of the Consorzio Vini di Romagna, Casa Spadoni will be hosting more than 50 producers who will be showing the general public, Ho.Re.Ca. operators, national and international press – also by visiting the vineyards and wineries of the area – the new vintages of Romagna Sangiovese and Albana.

The event will be accessible to the general public on Sunday February 23, while it will be open to operators on Monday February 24.

To anticipate the event, this year “Aspettando Vini ad Arte 2020” will also be held: starting from Saturday 8 February up to Sunday 23 February, the city of Faenza will be staging an initiative in collaboration with Confcommercio Ascom Faenza and Confesercenti Faenza aimed at offering menus paired with Romagna DOC wines, in a wide selection of local restaurants. Those who will be drinking Romagna DOC wines at one of the participating restaurants, will receive a 5€ discount on the entrance tickets to the tastings that will be held on 23 February at Casa Spadoni.

“Vini ad Arte” will also be seeing “Carta Canta”, an initiative of Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna that aims at giving recognition to the efforts of those who firmly believe in the uniqueness of the territory, choosing to enrich their wine lists with local specialties. “Carta Canta” rewards wine lists of restaurants, wine shops, bars, farmhouses, seaside establishments and hotels that offer a variety of premium quality wines of the Emilia Romagna region in their menus. Those who will send their wine lists to the Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna and will participate to the Ho.Re.Ca. seminar on Monday 24 February at Casa Spadoni, can also join in the selection of wine lists that best represent the Romagna, during the premio speciale Edizione Vini ad Arterelative to Carta Canta, with the award ceremony to be held at Vinitaly 2020.
